Holding of the 177th General Assembly session of the BIE with the presence of Iran's representative
**Iran Elected as a Member of the BIE Information and Communication Committee**
The 177th General Assembly session of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) commenced today, December 25, 2025, in Paris. During this two-day assembly, Ms. Sedigheh Beikzadeh, Managing Director of the International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company, is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The first day of the session featured presentations of the final report on Expo 2025 Osaka (Japan), updates on the progress of Expo 2027 Belgrade, Expo 2030 Riyadh, as well as reports on the 2027 Yokohama Horticultural Expo and the Milan Triennale 2025.
On the sidelines of the assembly, Ms. Beikzadeh met with Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE, to discuss measures taken by Iran toward its effective participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade and Expo 2030 Riyadh, as well as Iran’s preparations and plans for playing an active role within the organizational structures of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
Subsequently, in light of Iran’s candidacy and formal expression of readiness to join the BIE Information and Communication Committee, Iran was elected as a member of this committee.
The BIE General Assembly is the most official and significant international gathering responsible for the management, evaluation, and oversight of World Expos (Expos), and its decisions directly influence the organization and trajectory of future World Expos.
