With the presence of the Serbian Minister of Trade, the official participation agreement of Iran in EXPO 2027 Belgrade was signed by both parties.
This afternoon, on December 25, 2025 (4 Dey 1404 in the Iranian calendar), in the presence of Ms. Jagoda Lazić, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia, the official participation agreement of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the EXPO 2027 Belgrade World Exhibition was signed by both parties.
Iran is the third country—following Slovakia and Russia—among 127 nations that have formally confirmed their definitive participation in this international event.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran by Mr. Sadeq Beikzadeh, General Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Iran for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, and Mr. Mohammad Mahdi Tandgooyan, Deputy General Commissioner and Head of the Executive Committee for Iran’s Participation in the Belgrade Expo. On behalf of the host country, the document was signed by Ms. Jagoda Lazić, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade and General Commissioner of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, and Mr. Danilo Jevremović, Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
Also attending the signing ceremony were H.E. Mohammad Sadeq Fazli, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belgrade; Mr. Chamani, Commercial Counselor; and other officials from the economic and cultural sections of the Iranian Embassy.
The EXPO 2027 Belgrade World Exhibition, approved by the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and awarded to Serbia through a vote by member states, will be held in Belgrade for three months with the participation of more than 130 countries and international organizations.
The theme of this edition is “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All,” offering a significant global platform for nations to showcase their cultural, economic, and technological capabilities in the fields of play, sport, and music.
Under this international agreement, the Islamic Republic of Iran will present its achievements and capacities through a dedicated national pavilion at EXPO 2027 Belgrade, highlighting areas aligned with the Expo’s core theme.
Iran’s participation in this global event is regarded as a significant step toward advancing public, economic, and cultural diplomacy, expanding international engagement, and promoting Iran’s capabilities on the world stage.
EXPO 2027 Belgrade, with the participation of over 130 countries and international organizations, will take place in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, from May 15 to August 14, 2027 (25 Ordibehesht to 24 Mordad 1406 in the Iranian calendar), under the slogan “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.”
