Answer to the questions of the **Iran Pavilion Content, Scenario, and Design Competition** for Expo 2027 - Part Two

1. Please specify the final color of the floor and the surface characteristics of Hall (Section) No. 05 where the Iran Pavilion is located.
Answer:
The installed floor is of the epoxy type and its color is RAL 7035 (Light Grey).

2. Please explain the approved lighting plan for the movement corridors around the Iran Pavilion, including the type, technical specifications, and installation method of the lighting fixtures.
Answer:
The lighting of the service corridors around the Iran Pavilion is provided by standard LED lights installed in the ceiling.
In the public area, linear LED lights are installed on the ceiling and have a lighting control system (all three lighting lines or sets of lights are simultaneously turned on or off manually via switches installed in the distribution panels, or through the Building Management System (BMS) by placing the selector in the appropriate position).
The type of lighting fixture in the public area (general section of the exhibition hall) is as follows:
Hall light, model LL234X, 160S/840, equipped with 2×PSU, WB dispersion angle, 7×2.5 HE BK, length 3400 mm, luminous flux 16,000 lumens, power 97 watts, protection degree IP20.
Providing lighting inside the pavilion is the responsibility of the participant, as the organizer only provides lighting for the service corridors and public spaces (outside the pavilion).

3. Please confirm whether the use of dynamic, programmable, or color-changing architectural lighting systems on the pavilion facades is permitted in accordance with the relevant lighting, safety, and operational regulations.
Answer:
Yes, it is permitted. Please observe the instructions in the Design & Build Guide, Chapters 4.6.3.3 and 4.6.10.
All elements used in the pavilion facade must be designed considering their potential effects on people with disabilities, and none of the components of the pavilion facade should contain offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory content or design elements.

4. Please specify whether the staircase providing access to the mezzanine level (second floor) is required to be smoke-sealed or enclosed in accordance with fire safety and life safety regulations. (In other words, whether the staircase serving the mezzanine must be designed as a smoke-proof staircase or not.)
Answer:
Enclosing the staircase that provides access to the mezzanine level (second floor) is not a general requirement and is not mandatory in all cases, in accordance with fire safety and life safety principles and regulations.
The staircase is only required to have a fire resistance rating and enclosure, or to be designed as a smoke-proof staircase, if the evacuation route length exceeds 20 meters. This distance is measured by one of the following methods:
• From the farthest point inside the "Shell & Core" area provided by the organizer, or
• From the farthest point to the first exit from the space (room).
In such conditions, the staircase must be equipped with a ventilation system, which can be provided by one of the following methods:
• Natural ventilation, or
• Mechanical smoke extraction.
Therefore, smoke-sealing the staircase is not mandatory in all situations, and its requirement depends on the actual length of the evacuation routes.

5. Please specify the permissible riser height (step height) and the geometry of the staircase leading to the mezzanine level (second floor) in accordance with building regulations and relevant accessibility standards.
Answer:
Please refer to the Design & Build Guide, Chapters 4.6.8.3 and 6.5.7.2.2, as well as local accessibility regulations, including the "Regulation on Technical Standards for Planning, Designing, and Constructing Buildings to Ensure Barrier-Free Movement and Access for Persons with Disabilities, Children, and the Elderly" (Sl. glasnik RS, No. 22/2015).
From the perspective of local fire safety regulations, no specific and stringent requirements have been set for the geometry of the staircase for access to the mezzanine, beyond the general principles of safe movement and evacuation.
However, based on proper engineering practice and common building design standards, the following ranges are recommended as suggested values:
• Riser height: 15 to 18 cm
• Tread depth: minimum 28 to 30 cm
• Step proportions must ensure safe and comfortable movement.
Finally, the staircase must provide safe access and evacuation in accordance with applicable architectural and accessibility standards.

6. Please confirm whether the exhibition hall surrounding the Iran Pavilion and the pavilion structure itself are designed to utilize natural daylight, and if so, under what conditions or limitations.
Answer:
The exhibition hall surrounding the Iran Pavilion has very limited to almost no natural daylight. Inside the Iran Pavilion, there is also no natural daylight.
